WWW: I like your answers to the first 10 questions – particularly the fact you have a clear plan for your next steps and what it will take to get there. Your Semiotics work also shows you’ve picked up the crucial element of Media in terms of how messages are communicated to an audience. The challenge now is to get that quality and consistency across all of your work and ensure you are meeting deadlines.

EBI: Two key areas to improve here: firstly, some of your work is missing or unfinished and it’s important to make sure you are organised and fully completing work. You have not completed the Media Consumption Audit and the Media Codes / Reading an Image work is completely missing. In terms of how to improve going forward, I think you could have answered the questions on the ‘English’ short film in a lot more detail (particularly the second question on de Saussure and the different possible meanings of the film). It is this depth and detail that is ultimately going to open up the top grades at A Level and help you on those next steps to university.

LR: Complete any missing or unfinished work.

Then, create a blogpost on your Media 1 Exam blog called ‘Blog feedback and learner response’, copy this feedback in and then complete the following learner response:

Reflect on your work in A Level Media so far. What is your strongest piece of work? What is your weakest? What specific skills or knowledge do you need to develop over the rest of the course?

  • My weakest task was reading an image as I had not completed it
  • I need to develop my interpretation skills as well
